I used to buy old ones as a kid from a little shop in the bowels of the Guardian Royal Exchange in Manchester City Centre, with my family allowance you got back then, £7.25 iirc? Then used to pore over the detailed fight reports at the back. An "up to date" (ie new) one back then was woefully out of date, I recall impatiently waiting for their report on the Mike Tyson v Spinks fight, as I recall it was quite low key.

Haven't read it for absolutely years, and certainly not for eight quid!

Boxing Monthly was the best. Shame it's done.

 

Yeah, it was. I've still got the very first edition from 1989, with Tyson (who else) featured on the front cover.
