Tszyu whapped him with the best right hand chop... Just literally chopped into him... And not once, but twice... He hits him clean with a right just before the second one chopped him into another dimension.
Ah, but remember Kostya’s classic “It’s a boomerang” comment. Made sense. This content is protected Zab shined for the best part of the first round. Tszyu remained cool - Louis like. The right hand wasn’t missing by much at the beginning and Kostya made the necessary fine adjustments to ultimately land one of the sweetest shots you’ll see. Stoppage was perfect.
I don’t care about Kostya’s interview. The division was devoid of talent and star power but he somehow skipped the rematch in order to fight Tackie, an old ass Leija, and a faded Mitchell for a second time. He also skipped a rematch with Phillips.
KT referenced Zab Judah’s OWN arrogant pre fight terms - Judah was asked about giving a rematch IF he won - Zab replied “winner takes all”. Zab was favourite and discounted KT. It wasn’t as if it was a close fight save for Zab initially starting faster than Tszyu - big deal - KT would’ve cleaned his clock in a rematch anyway.
Yeah, a lot of people seem to forget Judah saying that crap. Glad KT didn't give him a rematch since Judah would have run off into the sunset if he somehow won. I also remember Judah saying, "It was a disgrace and an embarrassment," when JC Chavez fought KT about a year earlier and lost via stoppage. Well, he was right. It was a disgrace and embarrassment how he lost the fight and acted afterwards. Karma came and served sweet justice on that big mouth.
But he did in the fight that mattered. How often is there a clamour for a rematch after one fighter got destroyed in two rounds? Not very often. If Tszyu cleaned Judahs clock out again people would be calling it a pointless rematch. Anyway Judah did nothing to warrant a rematch. A couple of wins over no names and a split win over Demarcus Corley before losing to Cory Spinks. He avenged that and credit to him but by then Tszyus career was finished anyway.
Corley was a better win than anything Tsyzu did after Judah. Spinks probably better than anything he did in his career. Like I said, 140 was a ghost town but he didn’t take the one big money fight he could’ve until Hatton showed up and made him quit.
He didn't have to. One funky chicken dance was enough. No need for a replay. Just put the original dance on loop. The arrogant boomerang Zab threw out there simply swung back around and hit him in his own a$$.
Tszyu destroying Judah, battering Gonzalez, annihilating Mitchell, flogging Hurtardo are all better wins than Zabs win over Cory Spinks. Aside from beating Judah, Spinks’s career is nothing special at all.
Sorry, OT first: Man, I find it funny that this was a hot topic for debate in this same forums back then, now it's discussed in retrospect in the classic forum. We have grown old haven't we? In my opinion, Judah didn't do himself a lot of favor by immediately getting up with his brains still scrambled. Had he took some time, he seems capable of beating the 10 count. It was a good stoppage for the fact that Nady just based it on what Judah presented to him. He was off balanced, on unsteady legs and fell back to the canvas.
It was the right stoppage. If judah had being left to carry on, he'd have been knocked unconscious. Simple as.
No they weren’t. Spinks was lineal at 147, won belts at 154 twice, and almost became lineal at 160 but lost by a round or two to Taylor. Tsyzu didn’t have the balls to fight at welter.
Lineal for beating Ricardo Mayorga…who didn’t beat Ricardo Mayorga lol. He was a fluke over Vernon Forrest which is about it. Spinks won a 154 title over the same Miguel Gonzalez that Tszyu destroyed right? And Roman someone? FFS that’s **** poor. Jermain Taylor wasn’t all that and was in an absolute rut when he fought Spinks and the fight was an appalling stinker. Are you arguing Spinks was a better fighter than Tszyu? If you are then don’t! It’ll make you look like a complete fool.
You must be drinking already. Spinks beat Piccirillo for a belt. Spinks beat Mayorga after Mayorga had beaten Lewis and Forrest x2, the Forrest wins being better than any Zoo ever had. He defended lineal 147 against Gonzalez. He beat Karmazin for a 154 belt and beat Latimore later for a belt. He almost beat Taylor for lineal 160. Zoo beat nobody on that level unless Judah counts.
