The most prestigious club in Australian boxing (the IBF World Champions club) has recently admitted several new members. As a sign of the times, they're even admitting women to their ranks these days. That should make for more interesting club meetings although I don't envy the ladies in having to put up with some of those old codgers slobbering over them after they've had a few.

The complete list of current & former Australian IBF World Champs appears below (shout out if I've missed anyone) -

All still alive. A great memorabilia piece would be getting all those signatures on an IBF world championship belt. Something I've always intended to do but never got around to. Maybe one day.

 

It's a very exclusive club & that extends to their meetings, entry to which is strictly controlled.

There's even a sign put up over the bar that says - "No Horndogs allowed".

Just read on Insta what Troy thought of the fight.

He was pretty dirty with he decision. Was stopped in the 4th because of a cut which he thought was caused by a punch and went to the cards. From his viewpoint the cut wasn't even bad but he wasn't disputing the stoppage, as he acknowledged that the safety of fighters should come first.

But he felt he had clearly won all of the completed rounds and was even robbed of what he felt was a clean knockdown.
Sammy got the win via a technical decison.

Sounds like some Melbourne home cooking from what he is saying but having not seen it I can't really comment on that.
