Louis is more modern. Holmes is too primitive with his chin a mile in the air, and leaning back like a holdover from bareknuckle.

Louis KO 1 if they let Holmes in the ring with him.

 

I actually agree with you that Louis stops Cooney early. Just like he’d stop Shavers early. Louis was a superb fighter with power to spare.
I suppose I’m just saying Prime Cooney would have an outside punchers chance cos that boy could bang.

Louis was no bum, but Holmes indeed was superior.

 

Not sure if you overrate Holmes or underrate past boxers.

 

I can't wrap my head around how much Louis struggled with Conn while in his prime, and the size disadvantage doesn't help against Holmes' opposition. Probably doesn't make it to 49-0.

 

Conn was better boxer than anyone Holmes fought during his 48-1 run.

 

Past boxers were not as good as more modern ones
