joe got tagged by a 6’7 250lb buddy baers Sunday punch. Fought him twice. Fought 6’4 260lb Abe Simon 2x. Looked much better in the rematches

Louis was built to fight often. As long as he fought all of Holmes opponents in a 4-5 year span he would be just fine. Louis didn’t show serious signs of aging until he got older

 

Extra weak heavyweight resume too.

 

Conn's heavyweight resume pre Louis was a hell of lot better than Spinks' pre Holmes.

He came up to the weight and his time was cut short due to WWII, all things considered it was a solid run.

Yes but the majority of Joe’s opponents were far smaller than Holmes. It’s a grind, especially sparring to get ready for bigger guys in camp each time before actually fighting them.

Joe also fought a lot of his bum of the month types when he was super active so his number of defenses in a short time isn’t exactly the same.

 

Spinks actually became a normal sized heavyweight. And Conn has a categorically worse resume at heavyweight than Spinks.

 

And Mayweather didn’t have much a resume before fighting Genero.

Spinks proved to be a decent heavyweight. Conn never really did, but still almost beat Louis.

 

What if Weaver landed a left hook on Joe? Joe isn’t stopping Spoon and if Joe is old and ready to be put out to pasture well Cooney would kill him with that left hook
