“It was a robbery, I had it 7-5 Pulev” is a complete contradiction! 7-5 can never be a robbery can’t it - it’s literally 1 close round scored the other way to change the result ?!
Pulev pushed the pace but lacked the power and accurate punches, when Chisora was on the ropes , he couldn't catch him and hit the air.
Pulev was pitter pattering, Chisora was banging to the body and landing big overhand rights. I'm actually surprised the judges didnt screw Del Boy once again though.
I had it 7-5 Pulev but there were probably 4 rounds that could have gone either way, no complaints with the decision
And why should that be the case? Cause it does more damage? Chisora body shots have done zero damage to Pulev body. Body shots is never as damageable, as shots to the head. Anyone could try to argue with me on that, but he will be destroyed in terms of arguments. I have been training martial arts for most of my life. Been trained in Kyokushinkai. And just as any good fighter, you condition your body. Anyone with 2 brain cells is going to do that. You can't condition your head to take shots, unlike your body. I could have take punches to the body, whole day long and feel next to nothing from both hard punches and more importantly from hard kicks. And when in reality i could easily go down from 1-2 hard punches to the head, especially that in Karate we don't wear gloves. It's the same thing in Kickboxing/Muay Thai. On top of that in terms of damage, a shot to the head can cause multiple bad things to the opponent, like concussion, brain cell loss, brain damage, permanent damage and on top of that even a death. On top of that there is multiple areas in the face that can be badly hurt or broken, cuts can happen, eye damage, broken nose, broken chin, broken cheekbone and so on. Most of the time a fighter with weak conditioned body that get KO to the body he gets up and it's okay. And there is tons of time where fighter is damaged after headshot KO. Most idiotic thing in boxing is that body shots are counted automatically as power shots, and some people give them even more meaningful compare to jabs or even power punch to the head, which is ridiculous at the very least.
Good for Chisora that he finally defeated a proven opponent, even if it was a robbery we must not forget that Chisora was a victim several times and lost in unfair ways, this victory is very welcome for him...
To be fair Haye was commentating like he was Chisoras buddy rather than a neutral observer. Thought it was a close fight, thought Pulev edged it, but frankly, considering that Chisora has lost every close fight in his career, he was due a bit of good fortune.
His whole career Pulev has suffered from being (By world level HW standards), fetaherfisted. If he cant wear you down by constant barrage, then hes never going to stop you. Chisora knew this and just let him come on to him to try to land the big overhand rights
It was a robbery, indeed! The referee was bias as well but that's wasn't something unexpected. Pulev was in control most of the time. He landed the best shot of the night that buckled Chisora's legs. Chisora did land some sloppy overhand rights but those had little damage if some at all. He put a lot of efforts in body work but with no advantage whatsoever gained. Pulev would just let him had the body but nothing accomplished. In the end of the fight it was clear who was spent. Overall, good effort by Chisora but not enough to win the fight.
I agree that Pulev- Chisora was not a robbery, but a 7-5 score could be a robbery if the fighter on the losing end of the score card clearly and definitively won 7 rounds. But again, this doesn't seem to be the case with the fight we are discussing.
You believe that Pulev won the fight, but the boxing gods should punish him because "Chisora has lost every close fight in his career?"
I thought it was a very close fight. I am going to watch it again and score it carefully. I thought Chisora's toughness and inner resolve was very impressive.
