Gonzales defeat to Pascua caused a huge stir at the time as a lot of us really brought into Humberto.

Sort of ironic as I remember Gonzales rematch victory over Carbajal also being a shock, and having to eat humble pie and realising my first impression of Gonzales was maybe closer to the mark.

And to finish off a trilogy of Gonzales fights, as you mention the Sorjaturong was a biggie too. And that Gonzales then called it a day was a bit of a surprise as well.

It would also be interesting to know by those who have much better knowledge than me of the Asian scene, if Chang's loss to Gonzales was considered a surprise by those in the East?

Francisco Quiroz vs Lupe Madera would probably be considered a bit of an upset, given Quiroz's spotty record going into and coming out of his title reign.

The wars with Tokashiki must've really took their toll. Although I suppose that's unfair coz iirc Quiroz did give Olivo a few issues too.

I realize this is north America-centric but for me it was the Michael Carbajal loss to Mauricio Pastrana. At the time Pastrana had just 15 fights and had never fought outside of Colombia. Carbajal had only lost to Chiquita Gonzalez and was still looking good in his fights. Pastrana's win stunned me.
