A few that come to mind Micky Ward vs Alfonso Sanchez Shannon Briggs vs Siarhei Liakhovich Pernell Whitaker vs Diosbelys Hurtado
Mike Hercules Weaver vs Big John Tate, March 31 1980, Tate was pitching a near shutout going into round 15, then a Weaver left hook lands and lights out for Weaver, the new WBA Heavyweight Champion, nighty night Big John, ZZZZ.
Tate had some scary KO losses vs Weaver and Berbick. Scary in the same way the KOs of Roy Jones were. A total short circuit, lights absolutely out - motionless. Potential precursors to a tragic fatality. Big John was a handy boxer otherwise and moved well for a big man - coming up around the same time as Cooney IIRC. I wouldn’t liked to have seen Tate eat Cooney’s left hook - maybe a possibility that Tate could’ve outboxed Gerry but always under the dark cloud of being just one punch away from devastating defeat.
Now that’s thinking outside the box. Edward de Bono, eat your heart out. As to your question, I’m still stuck inside the box - haven’t got an answer yet.
