As someone who has always been critical of him and never bought into his hype he really put on a show. He looked like he was in his best form and fought like a pro. Obviously he still has a lot to improve on but I think him leaving Team Canelo was the best decision he could make. When he’s 100% focused on boxing and away from social media he does look really promising.

If Ryan somehow manages to beat Tank then I will be a huge believer. Hope he actually proves all of his critics wrong, including me.

Well, let him fight someone good in his new division. At least Matias or Martin.

Then we will see how good he is

He looks stiff as hell, still. Stands straight up w/ almost zero head movement. With his length, he should be spamming his jab. He's also cement-footed. The Goose got some work to do.

Based off what? Fighting a seasoned, blown up Fortuna who just stood there and did nothing with his hands down all fight? It's insane how short sighted boxing fans are after a fight.

Garcia is still a bit upright for my liking, and his foot work remains...well...a work in progress, but I thought his jab, punch selection and delivery were excellent.

Even if he ultimately elects to simply fight "tall," his length, reach, speed and power will be a handful even at 140lbs.

That's what I saw, when he punched I thought his chin was up in the air just a tad too much. I admit he looked pretty good but Fortuna enabled a lot of that . He looked much older than 33.

He is giving off strong Amir Khan vibes with his thin, long neck and all this nervous jittery energy often mistaken for speed))

naah, hes fast. the way he catches guys consistently with that left hook as they step in to him takes tremendous speed and timing. fighters train not to get hit by that particular shot in that particular circumstance. they just misjudge his trigger.
the kid has great awareness. like seeing in slow motion. but his concentration lasts for single shots for the most part. if you throw multiple shot combinations at him he starts to look flustered. lacks the cool familiarity of a veteran when fielding flurries.
i think his biggest weakness right now is his lack of professional attitude. hes high on himself. its all about him looking good and building hype. more worried bout his image, and how hes looking in the ring, than about getting the job done in the most efficient way possible, like a professional. it should be about the mission not about him. take the ego out of the euation, figure out what you hae and what you need to accomplish the mission in the surest way possible, and let that be the focus of the hype.

I'm still not sure whether the improvement we all saw last night was Garcia looking good or Fortuna looking bad. That being said I do agree leaving a trainer who didn't really have time for him was a smart move on Garcia's part.

His next fight needs to be a live body from that weight class.

Hes talented, skilled, has a good chin but tends to get big headed. A continuous training is important in boxing.
