Clearly Wlad is the biggest puncher hes faced by some distance. If Wlad was able to land on him like Usyk and Ruiz (in the first fight) did he would have been knocked clean out.
The left hook that VK demolished Pulev with is probably the best shot I've seen VK land. That's why VK was so dangerous in his day, left or right hand landing flush and you were pretty much effed.
Wladimir knew he dun goofed retiring after the joshua vs takam fight, wladimirs timing was off in the joshua fight and just needed some more intense sparring and would have beaten joshua in a rematch.
It's still one opponent.....also after the first fight Wilder would have felt he could get Fury out considering he nearly did at the end of the first fight. The fact is Wilder turned down Joshua. wanted no piece of Vlad and avoided everyone else near or at the top. Let me reiterate again. back then Fury was damaged goods who had claim to the lineal and that was it he wasn't considered heavy handed or having a great chin. Wilder was/is deluded surrounded by yes men and believed his power would get him out of trouble as it had with everybody beforehand. As I mention above knocking out bums is different to knocking out the top guys who are generally more durable. Think of someone like Iron Mike or Lennox. both very heavy handed but as they moved up in competition they started to go the distance a few times. That's the norm when you progress from building experience to challenging contenders and former champs./ champs. Wilder simple doesn't have that progression before fighting a physically compromised Fury. The issue here is the assumption that Wilder sparks everyone when the only top guy he fought who wasn't classed as iron chinned beforehand he failed to get out of there on three attempts. The fact is we will never know because he was kept away from anyone with a pulse. I'm not putting it all on Wilder either I blame the people who managed his career and wanted to milk a limited cash cow keeping him away from the bigger challenges thus stunting his development as a boxer.
If Wlad punched harder than Ruiz I guess Ruiz must've had more speed and skill than Wlad cause he did what Wlad couldn't.

Not only in the rematch but if he just went at AJ instead of boxing, I'm sure there's some regret in himself for that, it was that allowed time that helped AJ recovered & finish the job by stopping him, I remember reading Vitali saying something similar.
Of course, it's why Team Wilder steered clear from Wlad for all those years, i remember Finkle saying Wilder is a baby lamb of some sort.
Likely but hindsight is 20/20. AJ at that point seemed like a near world beater and people probably thought he'd only get better in those pre-Ruiz 1 days.
