Plausible list. Interested to know what factors you consider. I think Tunney gets very underrated nowadays. I think Ali and Louis are pretty hard to keep out of a top ten, and then there are fifteen, maybe twenty 'arguables'. There's certainly no one in your ranking who I'd term an 'eye roller'.
You think Ali and Louis are hard to keep out of a top ten? Ummm who doesnt put them in the top 5 or top 3? Who would you rank above them?
If I read a top-ten HW list that didn't have Ali & Louis in the top five, I would feel forced to say something that I've never said to anyone before: YDKSAB.
Tunney at 9 is just inexcusable no Lennox Lewis in top 10 is outrageous Dempsey at 8 with all the incredible flaws in his career?
Dempsey continues to be high in lists despite not fighting Wills or Greb. I’ll never understand it. His entire title reign is significantly tainted
That is some list you have there! I agree with the vast majority of it. And especially your number one: Joe Freaking Louis! Wooohooo! This content is protected
tunney in top 10 is outrageous he never fought black men and admitted in letters he drew the color line and never would fought fight a black man. he never fought anyone with a height, reach, and weight advantage over him. So how can you possible predict his success vs athletic big men of the future? retired near his prime rather than fight next generation of heavyweights which consisted of 3-4 hall of famers Sharkey schmeling Godfrey Baer. Wins over any of these men would have added a significant boost to tunneys legacy at heavyweight Beats a 3 year layoff Dempsey twice which are good wins, but whom Tunney admitted in court he knew Dempsey was washed up and Tunney did everything he could to avoid a fight with Wills and go straight to Dempsey heeney, young risko, weinert, older gibbons, Spalla are decent but far from great wins on a heavyweights resume that belongs in the top 10

I used to think the same but the man did beat like 20 something ranked men…more then most in the top ten. I have him just outside for failing to meet Wills but the more I think about it the more I think Many fighters miss a few guys his was just atrocious
Jack Johnson refused to defend against Blacks. You have him rated. Hypocrisy? Maybe. Jeanette criticized Johnson, saying, "Jack forgot about his old friends after he became champion and drew the color line against his own people."
