She was a 17 year old kid who a few months after the Marshall fight won Olympic gold. Marshall beat a girl who was already one of the best. No-one else could handle her speed and aggression. But Marshall did. They've both grown and changed. I'd say Marshall's style has been utterly transformed whereas Shields has a more matured, polished version of the amateur style that Marshall originally faced.
I can't wait for Savannah to shut the deluded gobsh1te up and send her back to yankie doodle land with a nice L on her record.
i like both athletes. claressa reminds me of muhammad ali with her boastful mannerisms. savannah is another type of woman, but also good looking with pretty facial features and a very natural smile. shields is four years younger than marashall, who is 31, but has achieved more in her sporting career so far. marshall the taller one with the big punch. so this looks very competitive to me, which is great - may the better woman win! i see 3 possible scenarios: 1) shields wins on points 2) a hard fought draw 3) marshall wins via ko if a draw happens the stage will be set for an immediate rematch. the same, if shields´ win will be a split decision or narrow or very disputed. not sure, if shields´ will take the risk of a 2nd fight if she was knocked out. but generally i see good chances for a return bout.
When did say she has a weak chin? She may or she may not but what I do think Marcus Antonius is that she is gong to get hit a lot and accurately in this fight which she is not used to. She will need a great chin like Shane Mosley not to get knocked out.
Good post Barry and balanced. However I think their is a 4th scenario you have missed which is Shield to win by KO or TKO.
Shields is her own worst enemy Savannah has got into her head all she could do was rant & rage while Savannah just kept flashing that sweet smile. I think Savannah wins this one
who is barry ... ?? a ko win by shields, who has a ko ratio of under 17 % (acc. to boxrec) against a fighter who was never ko-ed, not to mention never lost before? one of the most unlikely scenarios to me.
