Either way, they screwed it up and we didn’t get to see the fight. Personally I always though Joshua would stop him early, but we won’t know now.
Joshua stop wilder early think other way round mate wilder very tough Joshua glass jaw Joshua crap defence hes ni going to keep our way of wilder right
Do you reckon we can create a Joshua hate thread and then if anyone wants to get something off of their chest and/or they have an agenda they can just go in there and post until their hearts content without the forum getting clogged up with multiple threads about the same thing.
There was an old interview with him saying if he fought wilder he would have to take it to him and stop him early as wilder can’t fight off the back foot and he didn’t want to risk going 12 rounds, it was long before wilder v fury 2 I think. Would be an early stoppage either way, doubt we will ever find out though.
Joshua has a better defence than Wilder. At the time of the negotiations for me Joshua would have won. Now it’s probably whoever lands first.
They would have made it already if AJ hadn't spent so much of his career on Ruiz and Usyk due to the losses. They could still make it but say AJ loses to Usyk again; AJ's going to need a rebuilding process after losing 3 of his last 5 fights. Fury and Usyk will be fighting for undisputed while they try to rebuild AJ's confidence at a lower level. And there's always the possibility that AJ loses again to someone he shouldn't, which would take even more lustre off the Fury fight and delay things further.
I see what your saying but look at Mayweather-Pacquiao. Pacquiao had been knocked out and lost to Bradley but the fight still happened eventually cos people still wanted to see it. I’m not saying AJ is on their level or anything but I imagine a similar situation unfolding. They’ll end up fighting when they’re both pushing 40 guaranteed.
On the flip side you can say AJ chose to fight Povetkin when the Wilder fight was pretty much a done deal. After that Wilder decided to fight Fury the first time. The offer you are reffering to was between the 1st and 2nd fight. AJ ducked Wilder to fight Povetkin Wilder ducked AJ to face Fury again. So let's call them both a duck.
