Mackie Shilstone on working with Riddick bowe and the Holyfield Bowe Trilogy

I have a bachelors degree in Kinesiology so I know a thing or two about this. Regardless of his ego or whatever, Mackie Shilstone is viewed as a Demigod within the sports science world. He was extremely cutting edge and way ahead of his time in terms of his methods. We had to study his work in several classes and this was even years after he was considered mainstream.

a lot of exaggerating though . these trainer pretend boxer is weak slob bum on decline & meet strength conditions trainer & become superhero super human athlete! save career completely.no this never happens. good can make some differences though

Wow, thanks. So who else, when it comes to S&C coaches, are viewed as the best? I know Poliquin was, and Joel Jameson is nowadays.

Who did Poliquin work with?

 

I'm thinking you may be able to get a few more of their names browsing the full HBO cards on youtube as usually before fights they would do a puff piece on the fighters to hype them up to the audience. I'm sure a couple of those guys are probably interviewed in those pieces from time to time.

Another route would be looking for old SI articles or ring magazine articles, but it would be a lot of looking.

Or ask Tim Witherspoon as he worked in the Don't King camps in the 80s and fought unto the 2000s so he may be able to help out with some names

Not too sure, but I meant that Charles was known as a huge name when it came to S&C coaches in general.

 

The work he did with Spinks was amazing

Nobody gave Spinks a chance against Holmes in '85

Spinks weighted in at 170 in his previous fight - a LHW defense aagainst David Sears

Mackie was awesome.
He alao worked with Hopkins when he moved up from middle to light heavy.
Recently he got 60 year old Linda Hamilton into Sarah Conner shape again,that was impressive.

 

Courtney Shand was Lennox Lewis's S&C coach.
