How good was Floyd?

The criticism of his resume is the talk of literal haters, he fought everybody who mattered, he beat everybody who mattered. He is the best of his era and it’s really not close.

 

Floyd, how good? Well Olympic gold medalist at 17, youngest lineal heavyweight champion, ever. First man to regain lineal world heavyweight title. Blatantly robbed of winning a WBA version against Ellis.
Yes Floyd was good, very good! Ali said he was the best boxer he ever faced.

 

He was just so good he made world class fighters and champions looks ordinary. He only loses in hypothetical matches. In real life he reigned undefeated.

 

A once in a generation fighter. Never being his fan, never like his character, but he was exceptional, no doubt about it.
And he is 100% missed.

 

Arguably the GOAT 130 which was his best weight. That he reigned at 147 and above is testament to his greatness. Like all the true greats, his legacy grows every year.

 

He fought everybody who mattered... at the right time.

And he rigged the game by controlling drug testing through privately contracted services, had ultra low T/E ratios, used illegal IV fluids, cheated a guy on the scales, and paid a caveman to wear different gloves.

He also avoided Margarito, prime Pac, Sergio Martinez, and Winky.
