It's not a bad Wasserman Channel 5 card. Josh Kelly is main event against an average opponent, and Harlem Eubank is against Tom Farrell (Surely Harlem Eubank is a more logical opponent for Conor Benn?). The fight that has gone under the radar is Hosea Stewart vs Franklin Ignatius. Two young heavyweights, 2-0 and 4-0. Stewart will be more than 100lbs heavier as he weighs in around 345lbs.
Shane McGuigan has just confirmed that Anthony Fowler turned down the Felix Cash fight on the Chisora undercard because his wife was pregnant... would have been a good fight. McGuigan also said they’ve turned down Regis Prograis for Robbie Davies Jr as he refuses to work with Probellum.
Tbf, August is the unofficial out of season, along with January. It's always really quiet those 2 months
Should be 40% to Nigel, 40% to Snr and 10% each to Conor and Jnr. Let's be honest 80% plus if any revenue will be generated because of their dads.
That is top idea, I cannot stand that pos, ugly, no prestige belt, even when Naz had it. Just the original 3 would be heaven.
Haha of course that's the reason he turned down Prograis , nothing to do with Davies been smashed to pieces
To be fair to the WBO I’d rather get rid of the WBA and WBC first these days. IBF is probably the best but you do get certain fighters not wanting to fight for that belt because of the rehydration clause. Can recall George Groves and Daniel Jacobs turning it down for that reason in recent years.
Regardless of their BS if I was a boxer I’d always want to win the WBC title. The green strap is the most iconic and coolest.
Ring Magazine and the Lord Lonsdale for me. Out of curiosity, have there been many who’ve held the ring belt without having one of the ABC’s? Pacquiao v Hatton was for The Ring and IBO only I think.
Hopkins did prior to fighting Calzaghe then Calzaghe held the Ring belt both without having held a world title
