Interpret 'giants' from a physical or career perspective of a fighter. But who are smaller and or perhaps lesser men that proved to consistently upset men of a larger weight, height or status, etc.?

For me fighters like Micky Walker, Harry Greb, and Sam Langford often defy physical limitations we would imposed on other fighters.

Whereas Ali and Frazier I feel overcome more psychological giants, in Frazier's upset of the Greatest he had to fight as much a mental battle as physical to defeat Ali. Ali's own aura of invincibility he cultivated imposed the greatest psychological challenge of a fighters career.

If we are talking physical differences, Marciano and Tyson are two easy examples.

Evander Holyfield. He beat quite a few bigger guys at Heavyweight, but none as impressive as his victory over Bowe who outweighed him by 30lbs or so. Bowe was not only bigger but he was also unbeaten 34-0 and was considered one of the best two heavyweights in the world. A giant in every sense of the word

They weren't overly plentiful or of ATG status but the times Joe Louis fought big guys he was mighty impressive.

It's a shame Archie Moore doesn't get more credit. 22-1 with 19 knockouts against men 200lb or heavier.

    Charley Burley. 5'9 151lb

destroyed 6'3 220lb JD Turner in 6 rounds, made Turner quit on his stool who told his trainers he couldn't swallow anymore of his own blood.

knocked out 6'2 200lb # 1 ranked Elmer Ray out cold in sparring.

sparred with # 2 ranked 6'4 210lb Harry Bobo, and he challenged bobo to an official pro fight at one point.

I don't think Frazier bought into Ali's "invincibility". He thought he was a mouth.

Actually, I think what Billy Conn did was almost the greatest David vs Goliath achievement in boxing.

Good shout. Power of his is always mentioned by guys who fought him, but his record really doesn’t reflect it.

Roberto Duran. Went up to welterweight, beat the 2nd best welterweight in history who had all the advantages with the exception of fighting know how.
Jumped up a weight, and defeated an up and coming Jr. Middleweight champion who was better skilled than most give credit for. Beat him convincingly.
Jumped up another weight class and gave one of the greatest Middleweights in history a much better fight than most thought he would.
Jumped up another weight class to super middle weight and gave a much bigger stronger aggressive fighter a masters class on the art of counter punching.
