At middle weight of course. I'm not sure Tommy's legs would survive 15 rounds, against Jake Lamotta. His Jab would work brilliantly for so long but pressure from The Bull takes its toll. Thoughts on these two great s battling it out?
I have a feeling Tommy breaks his right hand. I can't get this feeling to go away. I still pick him. But I pick him to have his left hand raised as his severely broken and shattered right hand is well-nigh unraiseable.
Dude would go back to Tommy's dressing room and be like "Why are you sitting there with that purple microfiber mop head? Where's the handle? and Tommy'd be like yo, that's not a purple microfiber mop head, cuz, that's my hand.
This one almost breaks fantasy fight rules. I nearly always pick the hitman by KO (Duran is too deeply ingrained in my brain). But Jake is someone who we have actual footage of taking the kind of damage you read of from the pre Sullivan days. I can’t choose.
I think Jake wears him down and steals enough rounds to make it count. I don’t think Tommy has enough firepower to deter LaMotta and with the fight going to be an up close engagement, I think Jake will have enough opportunities to force his will on Tommy as a stronger guy and take away his legs. I don’t think Jakey can stop Tommy or at least I do not consider it a likely outcome, but I do think rounds 13-15 here will be a one sided affair.
No one wants to look at Tommy Hearn's losses. It sounds like a political boxing ad, Please Stop The Steals, Tommy's Losses Are Fake News. Lol.
The thing is though Richard is that people seem to think any durable fighter, who can take Hearns's power automatically wins because Hearns is a bit chinny i disagree. Hagler came out like a devil against Hearns and swarmed all over him, with such aggression and intent. The likes we've probably never seen before in a major Middleweight fight to beat Hearns. And Barkley was a 6'1 huge punching Middleweight, with a 74 inch reach compared to the shorter LaMotta with only 67 inch reach. LaMotta is too slow too short and doesn't hit hard enough to beat Hearns IMO, it's a very bad style match up for LaMotta in my view.
I respect your opinion but moral victories do not matter in boxing, at the end of the day what matters is victories, a W on your record.
