How Popular is Spence and Crawford when it comes to Casual Fans?

I hear a lot of people stating that Crawford and Spence aren't really known amongst casuals but how valid is that claim? Everyone in Omaha knows who Crawford is and everyone in Dallas knows who Spence is. Is this the main factor holding up the fight (will this fight sell well among casuals)?

 

They are not really popular outside of US and even there, they don't care too much about them.

Casual fans need Wilder vs Fury type of hype.

 

I've been watching boxing since the 1970s when I was a kid and watching my father's old Willie Pep videos. I've never heard of these two until this thread.

 

For casual fans something like Canelo and GGG is more hyped and obviously mayweather vs Pacquaio.

 

Neither of them are loud mouths and spout rubbish which unfortunately now days it seems you need to be to get noticed

 

Bud does bad PPV numbers and neither of them is known to casuals outside America, I live in tyhe UK and nobody that I know has heard of either of them.

 

Honestly from a casuals perspective probably not that popular at all. Spence is probably more popular because hes fought better fighters and was scheduled to fight Pacquaio. Crawford is/was under the radar due to bob arum.

 

Wake me up when they fight each other..

 

They're not as big or as popular as Canelo or GGG.

 

It will garner a lot of interest from casuals because a lot of A list celebs and athletes will be talking about it.

 

From a marketing perspective and branding you could do so much more with them.
Especially crawford

 

Few inside America have heard of either. The fight would be talked about a bit on ESPN, with people scratching their heads as to who either guy is or what they do.

 

Not popular amongst the casuals but if the fight gets announced that might changed

 

Doesn’t help when the promoter for one of them believed that the fighter should promote themselves.

 

Spence is like G-Unit — popular, but nowhere close to the heights of their contemporaries.
