Hi, Clenelo. Are you still butthurt that you were humiliated by Bivol after all the theatrics you had before the fight? Your English is getting better.
No. A loss is a loss and you automatically lose one or two spots IMO. He's still in the top 5 though.
A lot of people didn't even have him pound for pound anyway.. but he certainly isnt now.. lost decisively to bivol and let's be honest he was getting clowned by bum plant too
If you look at his limitations you will notice that he is not good at going forward against boxers who know how to move and use angles against him. So he is ok to watch against other fighters who stand right in front of him and act like a punching bag does ,and that just makes him look better than he really is.
I don't buy that premise at all. People have been using that line since the Lara fight. Every fighter looks bad against a runner. Just recently Canelo broke down and stopped two "movers( Plant & Saunders) who were pretty good at using angles". As a matter of fact Canelo has only had real problems with 2 movers in over 60 fights and that was over 7 years ago, so again, that's a faulty premise and one that keeps on being repeated by those who don't know any better.
Put Plant and Smith in with Floyd and Lara and you will clearly see that the skill level of all four fighters are simply not on the same level. Lara lost a disputed decision because he simply didn't initiate enough attacks of his own, and had he been just a bit more active it would of been hard to score against him. Instead he made it easy for the judges to score for the A side.
New p4p King TBD at Crawford x Spence. Think Canelo still at top 3 but the loss diminishes his status
Naoya Inoue. The most dominant guy in boxing. The hardest punching guy in boxing. The most skilled guy in boxing.
So...If Canelo was the number 1 P4p....and he got beat by Bivol real easy like he did.....doesnt that make Bivol the best P4P boxer right now? or is the logic surrounding the P4P status flawed?
