100% correct on nearly all the points above expect for 1. There is no way in hell that if he beat yarde would he not be tied down with Frank!!!
I personally don't believe that unless you have some facts? It was his last fight so if he wins he can test the free market, I know that the UFC used to have a championship clause where you can't leave as champion. This fight wouldn't have made Lyndon any kind of champion and I haven't heard about that kind of clause with UK promoters before. Even with actual big names like AJ, Whyte etc it doesn't happen so I don't imagine it happening to Lyndon Even if it was the case though my points still apply, and he would be on for a far far bigger money contract had he won no matter the promoter
Lyndon and Pat both complained beforehand that they werent happy with the money and almost went to court. In the end they succumbed to the contract and went thru the motions with Yarde 2. Lyndon wasnt there to win.
He was in a contract, he had to have the rematch. If he didn't want to have the rematch he shouldn't have signed the contract .... If he wasn't happy with the money, then beat him and go on to get mega money It's common sense You think you're getting screwed over for the popular boy, you don't go there let the popular boy beat you up Infront of the world and then **** up your future earnings massively and take your unbeaten. You would be extra motivated to **** this person up He wanted to win, he couldnt win, realized he couldn't win and quit I just rewatched the fight, Yarde rushed him from round one and was nailing him with backhands from the first ten seconds. Lyndon likes to plod lazily around the ring on the back foot and fight at a dead slow pace, Yarde didn't allow it and pressured him and he cracked. They clearly trained to nullify this as Lyndon was grabbing and trying to clinch all fight but it was totally ineffective. Once he realized he couldn't stop the pressure he just quit. It's all on film If anyone thinks he didn't try or wanted to lose, I'd say they're actually thick
There are millions if people who go to work going thru the motions. Lyndon’s work just gets more exposure.
Well any contract can be reworked. That’s exactly whe he did-beat the popular kid and thought he would get the contract reworked. That’s why the rematch took so much to make and thry almost went to court.They didnt because they probably realized they would have lost. So he just showed up. Like you said he quit. Unlike the first fight it was much easier to quit when mentally you aint in it.
Yeah the wirk in itself. Otherwise the human emotions are the same. You think he trained the same for fight 2 as he did for fight1? He was fed up and couodnt wait to leave Frank.
Arthur seems like a nice bloke and he’s a good boxer. He’s certainly not vicious and seems a bit timid. He seemed intimidated against Yarde the second time and didn’t want any part in it.
It's a business and Yarde is by far the more marketable fighter, a much, much higher financial upside. At my work I know their employees who far more valuable to the firm than me and there is no point being bitter if senior management treat them differently to me. I am sure Arthur is a nice guy but for me he comes across as being a bit bitter towards Frank Warren for prioritising Yarde and following a profit maximising path. What do you expect Warren to do?
If Arthur was annoyed at Frank's preferential treatment of Yarde then surely the best way to get back at him was to beat him again and scupper future plans... not let Yarde beat him up and give Warren his preffered outcome.
There's a massive difference, the man in the street going to work and just going through the motions generally has zero affect on his job, his next pay cheque or ability to even earn a living doing that job in the immediate future.
