Seriously, beautiful footage. Thank you. Seen it before but annoyingly chopped up into separate and various edits - hadn’t seen the signing portion of the film for a long time. First things first. Who originally Framed Harry Greb…to be non-existent? Crumbs to you! I demand immediate reinstatement of Santa and the Tooth Fairy. Let’s turn the tide against this ridiculous Cancel Culture. Secondly, sorry to deflate everyone’s balloons but the completion of documents at the start of the footage was merely the legally required sign over of Walker’s Model T Ford that he had agreed to sell to Greb. The other guy present was just a J.P. True, it seems over the top to be so formal about a mere car sale and actually film same - but ownership of a car wasn’t so common back then and it was, after all, Walker’s much loved “Tin Lizzie”. Tears were shed but the Toy Bulldog’s emotional moments were respectfully left unfilmed. Events took a U-Turn however when Greb later discovered that the engine was already kaput and immediately went looking for Walker to beat the sh*t out of him.
Greb, or the guy who was pretending to be Greb, was 1) huge compared to Walker 2) had a nose that looked like it had been hit by a truck 3) had enough scar tissue around his eyes for 4 people 4) was such a ghost that even the film was frightened into going in and out of reality.
Not to mention when you lose to an imaginary fighter you can always win the rematches. The system works.
Harry loves and forgives all - including the Doubting Thomases, some of whom have now seen the light.
