I actually like Parker's chances of being able to outwork Joyce. Sadly, it seems very unlikely he could get a decision victory in the UK. Can JP stop Joe Joyce? Only if Joe Joyce falls over from exhaustion.
He needed to punch Alexander Flores three times in the gonads to be able to set up a shot that stopped him in the 3rd round. Flores folded against Luis Ortiz after the first jab. Took all of 40 seconds...
TBH, I'm not sure Joyce is going to just walk through JP and stop him all that easily. The only Joe Joyce performance that has been truly impressive was his stoppage of DuBois. And even there I have to acknowledge that DuBois was a bit uneducated and that DuBois's naysayers are correct in saying that DuBois hasn't got great feet. Joe Joyce didn't finish Bryant Jennings - who has no dog left in him. Carlos Takam is shot to hell. Ditto Christian Hammer. And even those two fighters were able to reinforce the notion that Joe Joyce is not hard to hit. I'm picking Joyce to win and I definitely regard him as one of the top-10 HWs in the game. It's true he might stop JP, but I wouldn't bet on that. More likely he wins on the cards, and I wouldn't even rule out that decision being questionable.
Sure. It's the reason why i don't think Parker or Joyce will get KO'd in this fight, but Parker may get knocked down. I doubt it though. I think this fight will involve Joyce taking massive shots and maybe getting outpointed, but at the same time Joyce could utilize is long jab onto Parker's absent defence and win via UD that way.
If Joyce had a faster jab maybe, Parker isn't a static target. What will be interesting is what Andy Lee is implementing as a game plan. Maybe body work will get the job done.
I must admit I am a bit concerned about the British judges and ref, etc. Parker needs to remove all doubt
In fairness to Parker though Flores took a dive against Ortiz, wasn't interested in surviving long enough to taste the power. Parker stopped Martz slightly faster than Ortiz but it means very little. When we're talking about journeymen with weak chins and hearts, they might go 3 rounds or they might go in 1, partly depending on their mood.
