Quite embarrassing that Warren is even announcing they won the bid, as everyone has known there's zero chance this fight happens. Matchroom didn't even bid.
There was an opportunity to bid, so why not? Buatsi clearly has some beef with Matchroom just now and Frank won't need any excuse to get in the middle of that... If Buatsi pulled out then it won't cost him anything surely?
I have also heard that Joshua Buatsi wants to leave Matchroom. I just hope he takes the fight he has left on the contract with Matchroom so we avoid a situation like Okolie/Matchroom.
What nonsense. There was a purse bid which Buatsi’ management didn’t pull him out of for some reason. Unless they didn’t realise it was happening, which would be pretty negligent IMO. Frank then won the bid and announced it. He didn’t say the fight was signed and happening.
Eddie will swerve this and fight pascal when in reality he should be beating both but for whatever reason seems avoid any fighter with decent power or world level but all we hear is how amazing buatsi is. Would love him prove me wrong just doesn't seem active or want it enough for me.
I can't see Callum Johnson fighting again, 5 fights in 6 years, 36 years old, hasn't fought in nearly a year, pulled out of his last fight with injury......I hate to say it but it's over.
Put a fork in Callum because he is done. He has pulled out of fights due to injuries now too many times.
Eddie confirmed in a Q&A the Johnaon fight isn't happening and an announcement on JB next fight will be made soon. I'm assuming it's Pascal. It which case MR will have to LHW mandatories if Buatsi and Smith win their fights.
We really are seeing a very similar thing happening to Matchroom on DAZN to Warren on Boxnation. Big announcement with all the fighters there then reality bitesvand everyone starts leaving. Then it was from Warren to Hearn. Now it's from Hearn to Boxxer. Hearn doesn't even feels embarrassed by the lack of boxing on DAZN. At least Boxnation had some live stuff every week, often top notch USA fights. Hearn and DAZN really have contempt for their subscribers, announcing Women's football and LIV golf ( both available free on YouTube ). I'm a subscriber, a mug really, their output and platform are a joke. I'd be very surprised if they have 200k subscribers. Perhaps there's only me !
You're not alone. I also pay monthly for DAZN UK and right now I don't feel it's much value for money. The worst part is that DAZN doesn't seem to care. They should announce a number of events coming up on DAZN UK. Right now we know of 3 PPV DAZN events (27/8, 17/9 and Eubank Jr vs Benn in October)
They don't care, Hearn doesn't care, they should be hoovering up anything that's available to provide boxing content. Instead they think that the current DAZN boxing content is enough. Ignore the PPVs which are a disgrace and ruined all their credibility ( they are basically serial liars ) , their content is a US show every 2 months ( Hearn ' the best card I've ever put on ' re every show ) , a Golden Boy show every 2 months, a UK show every 3/4 weeks, some junk from Italy and Spain that I imagine even the italians and Spaniards aren't interested in and soon to be, some junk from Australia. It's grim isn't it.
Probably not but 258 is clearly performing a duty with its clients whoever the promoter is, and that might not be the cosy AJ-Eddie relationship Matchroom would have expected. 258 will lose fighters if it's too close to Matchroom and/or DAZN so it's sensible for them to work at a distance.
