Lol! Anderson is crap man. This guy is so slow and basic. He's just a younger Jarrell Miller. He will never come close to a title unless he's in the right position when the belts inevitably splinter out again. Could see a Wilder like situation where this guy is coddled until an opportunity to fight for vacant belt comes along.
Absolutely possible. Zhang has a history of bone and joint problems and nobody really knows what his gas tank is like (though at aged 39, it's obviously limited). But when he can get his weight behind a punch, he's got huge, clubbing power. Zhang seems to have lost all the mobility he had six or seven years ago, but he's still very effective at moving around his opponent. Hrgovic would do well not to let his hands go until Zhang is visibly tired and has to avoid getting backed up by Zhang. All that assumes that Zhang is close to 100% for the fight, though, and recent history suggests he may not be.
He still demolished Alexander with ease, even though Alexander is not a good boxer, Zhang demonstrated his power and Hrgović has a very demanding task ahead of him, and I think that in this fight we will see what kind of chin he has because Zhang will definitely manage to hit him cleanly at least once.
Alexander took the fight on very short notice. That said, Alexander is not a well-trained fighter; he's never worked with a trainer on a full-time basis and he tries to fight a rangey style (jabs to Zhang's body?!) despite lacking natural range! Like Hrgovic, Zhang has struggled to get good fights. Looking down Zhang's resume - only Rudenko and Forrest are even at the gatekeeper level and beyond that only Curtis Harper and Rodney Hernandez were reasonable-journeymen at the time they fought Zhang. I do think Hrgovic will win, but it's a far, far riskier fight than any Hrgovic has had so far. Zhang is a threat that Hrgovic will need to manage for at least a few rounds and, as you say, he will get a chin check.
Zhilei Zhang has landed in Saudi Arabia, saying he wants to acclimate to the time zone ahead of his fight with Filip Hrgovic. His KO 1 of Scott Alexander has been watched "tens of millions of times" on Chinese social media, as per Asianboxing. https://www.asianboxing.info/asian-news
Zhang-Hrgovic is an interesting fight. Both are underrated by many people. Props to Zhang for being willing to fight Hrgovic, unlike the cowardly Hunter and Parker.
I know this is the case, but generally when you anglicize a name, you still put the given name the first, e.g nobody calls Mao Zedong "Tse-tung Mao", nor do we call Naoya Inoue "Inoue Naoya"
I think Hrgovic will win but he'll have a few scares early on. That Big Bang left hand is no joke and Hrgovic isn't exactly unhittable.
