I'm a little worried about Hrgovic, he hasn't had a good opponent so far, the same goes for Zhang, the stakes in this fight are high and will decide the direction of both of their careers, Zhang will be dangerous in the first 4 rounds and Hrgovic has a habit of opening up too much and getting hit, if he survives the first 4 rounds, then everything will be much easier, both of them know how to box, they are fighters with amateur experience and a good boxing IQ, we will see everything...
Way off topic but there's a lot to be said for the old custom of localizing names. Zhang is one of a handful of Chinese names English speakers have a crack at pronouncing right-ish but they get it wrong because of the spelling. But his family name is the equivalent of "Archer." That's probably not what he calls himself in his mind but neither is "zhawng" or whatever the announcers will be saying. So foreign names are always de facto localized, may as well make it a localization that is easier to remember/spell/say.
climatize to Saudi Arabia in August lol. You don't acclimatize to Saudi Arabia. and fighters turning up for fight week is not acclimatizing even if you could. If AJ Usyk was in a non aircon stadium we'd see AJ collapse after his ring walk.
I agree. Jelly "Ray" John is the GOAT localization. Before thou doest protest, this is the closest they will ever get.
I'd still love to know how the **** this fight became a title eliminator, but it will be a good show either way. I still think Chisora could beat either.
Zhang knocks out Hrgovic. Zhang is more technical, experienced and more skilled than Hrgovic. Hrgovic hasn't faced an opponent possessing the size and skillset of Zhang. This knock out loss will wake Hrgovic and his fans from their delusion, and will welcome them to the real and cruel world.
