Not talking about the like of Greb and Sullivan who have no footage at all. Or welterweight Ray Robinson. But rather fighters who nearly all of there career is on film but have a few glaring absences. I recall a Mike Tyson fight was never filmed due to snow stopping the camera crew, similarly a ray leonard fight was never filmed despite his early career being well documented.
I don't know how famous Slobodan Kačar is, but he is from the country where I come from - Serbia, and he is the only Serbian champion in professional boxing. Slobodan Kacar Vs Eddie Mustafa Muhammad vacant IBF light heavyweight title fight does not exist on you tube. Slobodan Kačar also won a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Moscow in 1980 in the Light heavyweight category. P.S. I am aware that Slobodan Kačar would never have been Light Heavyweight Champion if Michael Spinks had not challenged Larry Holmes. https://boxrec.com/en/box-am/583
I’d love to see the Shavers vs Young fights 1 and 2. Also Liston vs Folley is another one off the top.
That Leonard fight was against Randy Shields, who beat Leonard in the Amateurs aswell. I've always wanted to see their professional contest, as I heard it was a competitive fight.
It's not talked about as much, but there's single fight that wasn't filmed on Roy Jones's record, just like for Mike Tyson. For Roy - it's Tony Waddles. Kovalev vs Darnell Boone I is similar. Here, I highly suspect the fight was filmed - as his team was recording all of his early fights... but somehow the one where He got dropped and might've lost, did not show up. I'll ask around for it, now it made me curious. Wonder if some of my Russian friends know something about it, or if Sergey or his manager were ever asked.
Darnell Boone pretty much dropped every top fighter didn't he ? Kovalev, Ward, even putting Stevenson to sleep I heard.
Yes! He also beat Willie Monroe Jr., good fighter in his own right. He can(or should?) probably be called one of the best journeymen of his generation. His skills were good and He was was really sneaky in the ring. Good fighter!
I have never heard of him, but happy to get the chance to research a brand new fighter. And nice to see the honesty thinking your “hometown” fighter wouldn’t have beaten Spinks.
