In the year 2022 what are the thoughts of you all on rehydration clauses? I Personally think drastic weight cuts are dangerous as they are, but to couple this again with a rehydration clause is negligent IMO. The BBBoC should step in and ban them or prepare themselves for some lawsuits down the line.
The fight reminds me of Golovkin vs Brook. I have spoken to boxers who have told me that if you are completely weight drained leading up to a fight, you can be knocked out by punches you would not normally be shaken by. I'm crossing my fingers that neither of the 2 boxers get hurt.
Only way ever be safe is same day weigh in can see the argument for and against but surely it would stop majority trying to manipulate system cutting severe weight and putting on crazy weight as have plenty time to do so , Basicly 90 percent of fighters around just now would move up a weight
If you have a bad cut and drain yourself to make it on fight day it becomes dangerous again. I think the system in place now is fairest but rehydration clauses make a mockery of it.
I take the previous point though; if boxers were weighed as close to the fight as possible, they wouldn't chance cutting the weight. Everyone would naturally fight a little bit heavier but that's fine and more realistic.
What trying say if fight is on sat at 10 pm for Instance if weigh in is at 12 going be unrealistic make weight cut and put on excess amounts when have 24 and more hours. There will always be guys will push boundaries for any advantage. The commission need be more strict. What could do is same day weigh in say at 12 and then reweigh a hour before fight and can't be any more than weight above for instance the fight is lightweight 135 at 12 o'clock and a hour before fight cant be more than 140 any more fine fighter half wages. It soon stop people will weigh natural weights when half a purse goes

I remember Selby v Warrington and Selby killing himself to make weight and then getting two big cuts, one over each eye. How the hell he made it to the end I don't know, Champions heart? Anyway, rehydration clauses are insane.

Eubank agreed to it. I suspect the fact it's not coming out means it's not as bad as everyone's thinking. And if it's an 11am fight-day rehydration then there's still the best part of 12 hours after that. Kalle said CEJ makes 160 and still has normal breakfast on weigh-in day unlike a lot of boxers, so the fuss over 157-158 is probably just hype.
I genuinely do not understand this, in light of what happened to Michael Watson (ironically against a Eubank), why is the BBCofC allowing a potentially dehydrated fighter to take punches in the head, with a drained, dehydrated brain? I won't be watching this, but I would love Eubank to win this on principle, and hope he stays safe.
Eubank Jr said his dad hasn't spoke to him yet. Maybe his dad is against the idea. It seems like they were desperate to get there own benn v Eubank moment.
the answer is for major fight: 7-10 consecutive days weigh in, daily, inside limit or within a few pound on first day & onwards & even 2x per day weigh in this shows boxer is not draining & rehydrate. is impossible to do it for 10 day. & doctor can see. this is real monitor on weight and proof of fight at real natural weight
