I wouldn't say Hearns chin was that weak below Middleweight, Leonard could bang at Welterweight. And Hearns took alot of punishment in the later rounds, and was stopped on his feet more due to exhaustion, rather than his chin letting him down. I think Hearns's weak chin gets a little bit exaggerated, now i know his chin wasn't the best. But people also forget he survived torrid moments vs Roldan, Kinchen, Leonard 2, and was able to overcome those bad moments and win those fights. His chin was definitely the weakest part of his game, but i don't know if i'd go as far as to say it was "glass". I guess i would class his chin as average but fighting heart was a 10 no question.
I agree. Certainly not glass but he seemed to lack recovery ability once he was hurt. He didn't regain his strength the way some fighters can.
It was. He's been handing out plenty of free tutoring lessons of late and on multiple topics to boot.
Hearns would blow Tito out in 3 rounds. People forget Tito was a slow starter and with Hearns that's a huge negative.
Thomas Hearns is NOT Milt McCory . I like Curry against the vast majority of welters through out history. Thomas Hearns wouldn't be one of them.
If the Starling sparring session of 1981 is any validity, I would love to have seen Marlon take on Tommy in that time period.
That's true but if The Cobra lands a similar punch like the one Milton got it would be the same result. Curry had quickness and the range the ability to close distance. He would be a live Dog at the very least
Hearns would have to get Tito out in the early to mid rounds. He probably would do it. If this match up gets to deep water Trinidad is gonna have an advantage.
Skillset and power very high. Maybe 9. I always though that Thomas' best weight was 154lb limit though.
