I always felt that AJ is one of the more underrated fighters in the game. He's like a bigger Degale

People do stupidly say he;'s just an over rated bodybuilder but he has a similar physique to wlad, and has clear skills.

He's simply not a complete boxer like Usyk or Fury. He's way better than average, but just not ATG level. Simple as.

    HOF definitely.

If AJs a HOF In your opinion, what does that make Tyson Fury?

I would say Fury Is the HOF and AJ behind him currently. Can't see AJ being a HOF with possibly 3 defeats and possibly back to back.

AJ being a HOF depends upon how he finishes his career.

It's clear at present who has beaten the better opposition of two and its certainly not Fury.

    Little power? Really?

He might not be in Wlad/Foreman/Tua league in terms of power, but he can definitely hit hard

Why does it have to be one of the other? The logic of some of you people amuses me.

If Fury defeats Usyk next, then I'd consider him ATG, but if not, then HOF.

So if Fury is HOF Joshua can't be? Stupid.

You think that if Joshua is considered HOF that that makes it less of an achievement for Fury?

Joshua is very good at Bodybuilding. He'd be an ATG fitness trainer. As a boxer not so much. A glorified muscleman in boxing gloves is what we have here.

He flunked the elite test when he embarrassed himself against Ruiz. Nothing will ever top that shameful loss. Truly the most overrated boxer in all of History. Leave the sport of boxing and take that creatine Joshua, it's all you're good for

Wow - the armchair "experts" on this thread. I am no AJ fan but-

AJ is clearly an immensely talented boxer-puncher, unified champ and future HOF inductee

It would not surprise me at all if he finds a way to beat Usyk. He is one of very few who actually could

I always enjoy the Modern Martial Artists videos. I agree, Joshua clearly is more than just a physical specimen, at the top level you have a bunch of exceptional physical talents, whether is be Fury's size, Wilder's power or Usyk's tremendous co-ordination but to have the success all these guys have had, you can't just rely on being physically superior because skills will often find a way to overcome a physical disadvantage, that's what makes boxing so interesting to me.

Joshua has some boxing ability, he knows how to set traps, to counter and even adjust strategy mid fight we saw that as early as the Whyte fight. But he's just not as well rounded as Fury and Uysk who have more complete skills sets.

Wouldn't surprise me either despite how one sided the first fight was. Joshua has shown that he can fight more than one way as we saw in the Ruiz rematch and was smart enough to ditch his previous team when it was clear they didn't know how to beat Usyk.

I still have Joshua a big underdog but his capacity to learn and adapt at least gives him the possibility of winning the rematch, if he had stuck with McCracken and again attempted to beat Usyk with the same team who failed to find a way to win, I'd have given him no chance at all.

He's been developed and drilled full time by experienced trainers for a long time now, so he obviously has boxing skills.
But he isn't better skillwise than many HW's ranked lower. He has had a massive size advantage over practically opponent, except Wlad, who he had a massive age advantage over and who outboxed him and almost KO'd him.

The Ruiz loss (short notice too) was just ridiculous for someone who is supposed to have good/great skills. Ruiz was then made out to be some boxing master afterwards. Ruiz is an experienced but incredibly (naturally) undersized HW who had basically every disadvantage in that match.

Joshua is dangerous because of his size/speed/power and PEDs and Matchroom cards, mixed with decent skill.

Fury is dangerous because of his size/speed/skill/endurance/heart, mixed with decent power.

Wilder is dangerous because of his size/speed/power/heart mixed with basic/decent skill

Usyk is dangerous because of his skill/speed/endurance/heart mixed with decent power and stature.

I would say the Usyk fight shows he has no ability to adjust strategy mid fight. The “you’ll have to ask my team” comments after the fight about him trying to outbox Usyk were bizarre.

He can stick to a game plan but for me has never shown any ability to change and adjust mid fight.

The Whyte fight showed he could alter tactics after being hurt, going from looking for a KO to being more patient. Was it a huge adjustment? Obviously not, he doesn't have that level of ring IQ. He's smart enough to know he doesn't have all the answers but isn't smart enough to come up with the answers himself and is reliant on his team and when his team couldn't find the answers for Usyk, so he himself couldn't make the changes required and you had that odd comment about his team.

So I think can adapt mid fight if he's given proper instructions to but if his team are unable to give him and alternative as we saw vs Usyk then he's unable to come up with a new approach himself.

AJ's best win is Wlad. Fury beat him first. Wilder is also a better win than anyone AJ has fought.

I do think AJ has more wins against good opposition but Fury has the better wins, and he is unbeaten.
