Nonito is insanely durable. Only thudding and brain scrambling power hurts and takes him out. Roman ain't got heavy hands like that and his aggression will give Nonito tons of countering opportunities. Are you leaning this way based on the belief that Nonito will be badly drained?
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. Donaire is extremely old so I'm not sure he'll make 115 safely at all. You are probably right in stating it's unlikely Donaire doesn't get stopped due to his durability, although it depends on how he makes the weight.
Stylistically Donaire is all wrong for Choco, I'd take prime Donaire over prime Chocolatito any day. However, if we're talking about right now? Hard to say. Better to see how Choco does in his next fight. I don't even know if it's feasible for Donaire to drain himself further down to 115.
Nonito said he was in the best shape of his life and was the most motivated he'd ever been for the Inoue rematch. He said he felt great weighing in at 117. I think he can safely and effectively make 115.
You'd be surprised how hard it is to drain yourself even just a few pounds. I think going all the way down to 115 is pushing it and it's only going to hurt his body more.
I saw a YouTube interview where he said that he no longer blows up to high 140s not just in between fights, but in general, and that the early part of camp is no longer about serious weight loss.
I think he'll make 115 fine. If Nonito gets stopped, it's going to be because Inoue harvested his soul.
