Because he's been fighting to a gameplan (a good one imo). Wearing Usyk down with body work and slowing him down, conserved his energy first half of the fight.

 

Usyk at worst 4 up, he defo could have finished him there if he went for it.

Usyk lands a flurry of combinations but Joshua doesn’t step backwards. Joshua isn’t throwing much back at all.

Usyk walks into a massive straight right now. Amazing action here. Now Usyk comes back, he needs to be careful not to walk into a big shot.

What a fight. I’d love to see both of these guys against Fury / Wilder. Joshua has improved massively.

This when AJ should work the body now, when Usyk has thrown a load.

 

No chance on points without corruption and looks like being stopped himself.

Usyk did not have the legs to put Joshua down there.

 

AJ is closer on the cards than I thought, he just needs to be competitive in the last two rounds for a classic Matchroom fix

 

Joshua has taken these shots well. Usyk doesn’t punch extremely hard at HW but he’s very accurate.
