Tyson did not gas out. Did he gas out in 12 rounds vs Tucker or Smith or Ruddock 2? No, he was fresh as a daisy. Did he gas out vs Pinklon Thomas? No. Thomas survived early but Tyson remained calm and took him out. I am sure Usyk would beat the 1999 version of Tyson, who indeed gassed out after a couple of rounds. But not the 21 year old version.
I honestly think prime Mike smashes him He would lose some rounds, but usyk isn't keeping Tyson off him Mike would break his body to bits
And Tyson was obviously not unbeatable. A prime Ali, Foreman, Liston, maybe Holyfield, Holmes etc. would be favoured over him. I would also give Lewis a fair chance though i have always favoured prime Mike over prime Lewis. However, this is simply a bad stylistic match up for Usyk. Usyk may be the most skilled southpaw of all time in heavyweight history. Still styles make fights and this is a horrific style match up.
Tyson wouldn’t be scared of Usyk’s punches and wouldn’t backup after every hit like AJ did. He’d go in taking punches and land one to the body then uppercut and wouldn’t miss like AJ.
AJ was trying a little bit of that Tyson high guard head movement and it worked to good effect. Now imagine Tyson doing it whilst ripping the body which Usyk was hating. Tyson was also good at cutting off the ring which is the most important thing against a slick mover like Usyk.
Tyson was way smaller than Joshua, don't forget that. Usyk would weather the storm and win on points. People are saying Tyson wasn't gassing out early in his career. That's because he was facing stiff and lumbering oafs. Usyk's movement would tire Mike and he would be there to get hit later on in the fight with Usyk's off angle punching, accuracy and output. I have no doubt Usyk would beat prime Mike.
Mike being way smaller than AJ would have been a big advantage for him in this fight. Mike didn’t only fight low level guys. You know that. I have no doubt that this would have been a really bad stylistic match up for Usyk, where Mike’s power and aggression would have backed him up. Again, Usyk has nothing which would have deterred Mike from relentlessly pursuing him.
If you have chin problems, heart problems, defensive problems, engine problems, substance abuse problems or are very light, Tyson will probably KO you. Usyk has none of these problems. Usyk's also the much bigger man (5 inches of height, 7 inches of reach, 5 lbs in mass) is far more skilled and a southpaw, which Tyson had zero pro experience against for whatever reason. AJ and Chisora are 30-40 lbs heavier than Tyson and neither could remotely put a dent in Usyk, Tyson was too small and would be nullified up close. Tyson was also a privileged A-side fighter, so with neutral officials he would be at an even greater disadvantage relative to road warrior Usyk. Prime Tyson threw 273 punches over 12 rounds against Ruddock, 389 punches over 12 rounds against Tucker, 214 punches over 10 rounds against Douglas, 403 punches over 10 rounds against Tillis and 355 punches over 10 rounds against Ribalta. 35 year old Usyk by contrast just threw 712 punches over 12 rounds against 6'6, 82 inch reach, 245 lbs power punching behemoth Joshua in a small ring, in which he absorbed 124 of 492 thrown from AJ, including 37 to the body and a good few more to the balls. No version of Tyson had a good engine, he'd have an even worse engine against GOAT engined HW Usyk (who is much better than anyone Tyson fought in his prime) and the pressure on Tyson would be much greater than usual for "nationalistic" reasons, which would drain him further. After a few rounds Tyson would be comfortably outboxed, he would then fold down the stretch and get himself DQ'd.
I could easily pull this post to bits. But then nobody cares what you think. You have proven time and again that you are simply incapable of having an honest debate. So once again, I’ll just debate in the manner that you have throughout the other thread that you ruined, by simply saying: Your man barely beat Briedis. So he would have had a zero chance of beating Mike.
Usyk would have been backed up straight away. He’d have had no time or space to have embarrassed Mike.
Usyk struggled against a faded Derek Chisora who was never good. Mike Tyson by brutal early round knockout.
Tyson of 86-90 would stop Usyk. I'm quite certain of it. I also believe that Tyson would've stopped that (88-90) Holyfield had they actually fought.
