Amsterdam - "Margarito is a B+ Fighter at best"

    How much of a clown do you feel like now mate? I told you Margarito’s stock would rise even in losing to Cotto, the lad exceeded even my expectations and won (convincingly).

    You owe Margarito a MASSIVE apology, last night he vindicated everything I said about the guy, yes he was slow, yes he was sloppy, yes he was very hitable just like I’ve always known, but last night he was possessed by ****ing Lucifer himself, relentless, indestructible in the face of some ****ing truly hurtful counter-punching by Cotto.

    I’ll tell you what I love most about this cat, he’s an unfashionable fighter that the fashion police (led by you, Amsterdam) refuse to respect and acknowledge.

    Here’s the news mate – Margarito is no Pretty Boy Floyd or Italian Welsh Dragon, he may have a couple of losses to ordinary fighters on his ledger but he’s an ELITE P4P Top 10 Fighter now, and whilst that fact probably burns you to the bone, you need to pay your dues to the man, it is LONG overdue.

    Margarito deserves a lot of respect, he turned pro at 15, and has been avoided for years, hope he has a good reign as WBA champ

    Margo is still a B Level fighter..

    Cotto did everything better than Margo tonight, he just didn't have the will or stamina to continue.

    1. Cotto needed to have an actual body attack. There was nothing.

    2. Cotto as time went on, stoped dodging on the ropes and started absorbing shots with his arms and hoped he could outlast with that defence. Not.

    3. Cotto stopped jabbing. Cotto kept margo off balance with his jab then stoped.

    This is a silly post mate. These two cats could fight another 10 times and Margarito would win at least 7 of them. You're under-evaluating Margarito, and after last night's performance that's unforgivable.

    Cotto did everything better than Margarito did he? Funny, the result says otherwise.

    Are you just now realising Amsterdamn is a BIASED SOB.

    Ding replied to one of his posts and he became his biggest fan(Ding KO1 Adamek)Ding lost a few Amsterdamn no longer gives a damn.

    Margarito is still a B+ fighter. All he did was expose Cotto's lacklustre gameplan. He needed to work the body more and keep the jab going.

    Cotto is a world class grade A fighter. Margo simply is beast, never stopped applying pressure & Cotto couldn't stand the heat. Even though Cotto fought brillantly in retreat the first 1/2 of the fight, once Margo found his chin solidly about in the 6th round, all the cockiness left Cotto & he knew he was in the fight of his life.

    As far as a fight turning around 180 degrees, it was a thing of beauty.

    BTW, on Rumsfeld Mushroom Mag prediction thread, I said Margo TKO 9.

    Not bad for an old man, hey kid?:deal

    That's stupid.

    Cotto did do everything better than Margo except take punches and have stamina. I was talking from a boxing standpoint of exchanges, punching, defense. Cotto is the better fighter.

    Anothe fool. Moving brillantly away from an offesive fighter who was pressing the issue & landing incredible combo's is a lackluster gameplan?

    Didn't you see the replays after each of the 1st 6 rounds or so, the way Margo head was getting jerked around?

    Oh, maybe you didn't even see the fight. PPV, ya know?

    Cotto did whats does he need to do, but he can resist the power and the pression of a natural welter and stronger fighter like Margarito!

    Margo is a B level boxer but an A level fighter which means he is pretty damn good.
