What a shocker & knowing Garcia where he spends most of his days chilling with his Dad & ESNEWS snacking while yapping as he "Trains" what were people expecting because i heard allot during the buildup & the miracles he worked that one special time with Maidana.
Garcia should save this feedbacl to AJ and his management, the only reason to speak like this on an interview is to protect his own rep I am no AJ fanboy, and have mixed thoughts on him and his career On some ways he does get too much hate, lets be real he cant really be persobally accused of avoiding anyone....i am pretty confident that AJ is willing to fight anyone and the big fights (fury, wilder) couldnt be made due to oher factors. So on the meantime he faced all of his mandatories (something other high profile champs have been accused of avoiding in past when non fans want to break down their records) End of the day AJ is good but not world class, there is no shame in that He has some good wins, some great events The problem for AJ is the fact he was the golden boy, olyimpic gold (albeit via some dodgy scoring) so was fast tracked to stardom (like Khan, but Khan got KTFO in his first ppv) But we cannot blame AJ for taking the fast track We cannot blame Eddie Hearn for hyping AJ and getting him that easy world title shot against the awful Charles Martin What we can do is this Laugh at the narrative team AJ and team Hearn have been trying to spin more and more since AJs first loss That he is some victim of pressure and obligation, whilst forgetting that this fast tracking was NOT an obligation But once you want to fill stadiums and earn millions per fight then yes you are expected to fight decent opposition So yes AJ has been under a big spotlight for years, but most fighters would give their right arm to have been in his position Eddie used to big up AJs situation like he was the shining beacon that everyone else wishes they were, three losses later and the narrative is that i was a hude burden being one of the biggest and richest fighters in the sport They wanted it both ways End of the day , AJ is good, he will fight anyone, but he is not elite level , simple as that IMO
Nah AJs mentality didn’t defeat him what happen was the separation in levels between a very good fighter and an ATG was displayed in the 10th round..
I agree. Aj is very mentally weak while usyk is very mentally strong. People underrate mental toughness in boxing it's very important.
Usyk is mentally, physically, spiritually, and sexually one of the toughest men to ever walk this earth This content is protected
or he can clearly see that he doesn’t & can put him in a better position to win because of it. you have to be truthful & admit your faults in order to correct them or work around them.
He can go Oscar and keep hiring different coaches...Freddy Roach, Floyd Senior...but nothing is going to fix his flaws.
Garcia is saying this to cover up his own failures. Maybe Usyk can coach AJ after he retires - he has fought him twice, knows his strengths and weaknesses, and can help him with his mind game. One thing for which noone is giving credit to AJ - he fights the best and isn't a ducker.
Although I happen to agree with Garcia's assessment, he is proving himself to be the least loyal trainer since scumbag, John David Jackson, sold Kovalev down the river before the Ward rematch.
He's not trashing, he was telling the truth long before becoming his trainer and he's telling the truth now.
He's right, lol. Maybe AJ already had a go at him behind the scenes and so he knows he's on the way out and let it rip. People seem to forget AJ isn't a 'nice guy'. If he's having a petulant fit on camera, it's going to be a lot worse off camera.
This the best post I have read on this forum so far. AJ gets far too much hate on here imo, yet when he fights everyone tunes in and thread after thread is opened. Fury and Usyk are probably one fight way of turning their back on boxing and when wilder and AJ pack it in, the heavyweight will be left with b or c level fighters. Not one of them left has star appeal
