They both need each other, but only one fighter is desperate to unite the belts and it isn't Fury.

Fury is already the greatest HW of all time, the only fighter h2h that comes close is lennox lewis but he was brutally K.O'd twice by bums so he falls short.

I'm a Fury fan (albeit a bigger Usyk fan), but clearly it seems Fury does not want that smoke.

 

If he is not fighting Usyk next(this year, because Usyk will have mandatories next year) everything that he did until this point was for nothing.

It's very sad that last belt is holding such unprofessional and person who don't respect the division and boxing in general

Why can't he just fight straight away ? why there always have to be games and wasting everyones time ?

Usyk must be king of the hill then for struggling with a 9 loss journeyman (who Fury toyed with and made quit 6 years prior) and winning 8-4 and 7-5 against the mentally shot stiff bodybuilder who'd already been battered and quit against some fat Mexican no one had ever heard of.

 

There are far too many good reasons why this fight will happen:

1. Career highest payday
2. Massive status/legacy fight
3. Fury loves to prove the naysayers wrong and rub it in their faces
4. Fury wants to upstage AJ and Hearn by beating their conqueror, who stole his thunder in that regard
5. Fury doesn't want to be known forever as the guy who ducked a featherfisted middleweight
6. Fury wants to be the national hero who did what the big stiff useless hypejob bodybuilder AJ could not and bring the belts back home from the Ukraine (again)
7. Fury has big balls and doesn't fear defeat as many do, he relishes a challenge
8. Fury firmly believes that he will beat Usyk, who in relative terms struggled against their only mutual opponent (Chisora) and only beat AJ by 8-4 and 7-5 margins officially

 

He isn’t even top 10.

 

Chisora against Usyk was much more motivated. Chisora against Fury 2 was just a paycheck dosser. Dont forget Chisora rocked Fury to the core in the first fight. He could barely land a clean legal blow on Usyk all night, despite Usyk being significantly smaller than Fury.

Usyks two wins over AJ (8-4 9-3 fights actually) are better than Furys wins over right hand limited Wilder and 39yo gunshy Wlad - which if anyone scores properly was 7-5,8-4 Fury... Fury wasnt actually landing much in any of the rounds, just feinting and illegal scuffing blows. In many of the rounds he won, he won by 2 or 3 barely committed jabs. Not to mention Fury clear as day ducked the rematch.

So, all this in mind, and given Usyk has 3 belts to Furys 1, Usyk has a better case for being king at HW

Chisora was 241.5 lbs when he fought Fury the 2nd time so he was in the gym plenty and he genuinely believed that he would beat Fury according to his trainer. You have to fall back on unprovable excuses with zero evidence like "motivation" because the reality is that Fury toyed with Chisora and made him quit for the only time in his 45 fight career, whereas Usyk lost 5 rounds on the cards in Britain and had a tough time with Chisora by his own admission. Even reckless sub-23 year old Fury won a higher proportion of rounds against Chisora than Usyk did, absorbed fewer punches and landed many more.

AJ had been destroyed by a 5'11, 268 lbs morbidly obese light punching late sub just 2 fights prior to fighting Usyk. In fact, 1 fight prior to fighting Usyk AJ relatively struggled with 39 year old, 13 months inactive Pulev, whereas Wlad obliterated prime/near prime undefeated Pulev 12 months prior to fighting Fury.

Your personal scoring is reversionistic and irrelevant: the judges gave Usyk 23/36 with 1 even and 20/36 against AJ and Fury 25/36 against Wlad. Compubox and Eyeonthering suggest that Fury should have won by an even wider margin and it was his first championship fight, not his 8th like Usyk. There was no competitive reason for a rematch with Wlad; he was limited to the lowest ever number of punches landed in a 12 round championship fight in boxing history and lost by 8-4/9-3 margins in his own backyard as the A-side. 17 months later Wlad took AJ life and death in Britain coming off a defeat and a layoff, which further undermines Usyk's best wins.

Belts Usyk took from AJ which AJ had took from paper champions Martin and Parker, which had been stripped from/dumped in the trash by Fury and were never lost in the ring.

Usyk's HW record is making hard work of a guy with 9 losses that Fury toyed with and made quit 6 years prior and beating the guy who'd been recently destroyed by 25/1 underdog Ruiz and went life and death with a considerably older, inactive, B-side version of the champ that Fury toyed with in his backyard.

Even Whyte, who blatantly ducked Wallin and was a glorified fringe contender in my opinion, beat Chisora twice, once by stone cold KO and gave AJ a hard fight while he was less experienced than AJ, who was a star amateur. Whyte was toyed with by Fury, couldn't land a clean headshot over 18 minutes and got one-shotted.

Even if you add the best CW's that Usyk beat in Gassiev, Hunter and Briedis it's still advantage Fury.
