Artur Beterbiev vs Tommy Hearns obviously at LHW. Tommy still had a KO punch at that weight but could he withstand the returning firepower?? It would be interesting to find out
Not too sure it would be quite the slaughter you’re forecasting. I still remember Hearns beating unbeaten prime world LHW champion (at the time) Virgil Hill. Tommy took some shots and took them well before winning a decision.
Hill didn't hit a third as hard as Beterbiev. And I also remember Hearns failing to beat Iran Barkley twice, who had nothing but heart, size and a punch.
Iran Barkley was definitely his kryptonite that’s true. Some boxers just have the sign over others and poor Tommy just could not find a way to beat Barkley. As for Virgil Hill…he was an excellent LHW, the best at the time when Hearns faced him, so my point was more about Hearns being able to mix it with the best LHWs. He wasn’t just a blown up WW who would fold after a bang from naturally bigger guys. Hearns could bang himself as we all know, and he could also box brilliantly. And don’t forget Big Artur has been knocked down himself. Twice. So I stand by what I say…I don’t believe it will be the slaughter or decimation you think it would be…though I do believe Beterbiev would eventually stop him. But I think he himself may find his ass on the canvas too before the end in what I think would be a competitive 8 or 9 rounds.
