Ward wins this without even having to low blow.

Ward has been too inactive. Canelo easy now. Ward was always very protected anyway. Why did he retire when Beterbiev and Bivol were his mandatory?

Yeah, but Ward would whack them nuts on general principle alone. LOL

    Ward was protected?

    By who?

He faced the best at 168lbs and cleaned the division out.

He beat Kovalev - the best at 175lbs - too, at least once, lowblows or not.

He wasn't a cashcow or a PPV fighter so nobody had an interest in protecting him.

Ward would win by clear decision if fight took place in Oakland, Canelo would get a gift (maybe DQ) in Vegas.

Ward too big, strong and most imprtantly savvy for Alvarez.

    Wide UD for Ward

    Could go both ways.

Canelo by dodgy judging or Ward by low blow

The TV networks in America thought they could turn him into the next Mayweather imo. That's why he was the only fighter in the s6 tournament who got all his fights on home turf.

Got two robberies vs Kovalev (second should have been a DQ). He was protected.

It would be a great fight, but I have to favor Canelo. The tougher, more experienced, harder puncher and more versatile fighter beats a very talented and fundamentally sound but ultimately more basic Ward. Canelo's upper body movement and slipping of punches would cause Ward a lot of problems, he never dealt with anyone like Canelo in his career. They each have a common opponent in Kovalev, but Kovalev was damaged goods by the time Canelo KHTFO. But still his KO of Kovalev was cleaner and more decisive than Ward's which was clouded with controversy for low blows. Also Ward was knocked down by Kovalev and in big trouble early on in the first fight. Canelo never came close to being hurt or knocked down by Kovalev. Even a Prime Kovalev wouldn't have been able to KD Canelo like he did Ward. Canelo is just too seasoned and experienced for Ward to deal with. SOG would be in the deep end of the pool so to speak if he got in with Canelo, and Ward never had to swim in such deep waters like that before. SOG would become SOC, Son of Canelo.

Ward easily out points Canelo. Canelo would be hitting air.
