Usyk is a boxing master and knows deep down fury is a bridge too far This will be usyks version of canelo v Bivol, though I do think it will be more competitive I love usyk, he's a warrior. I also like fury, though he can be irritating at times. But this forum has a hard on for who they like and you guys don't use your head when it comes to predictions Fury is going to beat him 100%. I said it will be competitive, but it might not Fury to big, too long, mentally strong and much more stamina/footwork than the bodybuilder He will maul him Usyk may be a better boxer, but he isn't a better HW
Usyk needs time to recover. He shouldn't have to train injured and risk being less than 100% going into a fight.
I once thought Fury would almost surely beat Usyk, but in a competitive fight. But that was before Fury started thinking he should be 270+lbs fat and a pressure fighter KO artist etc. And before Usyk beat AJ twice and took some big HW power. Now it's hard to know what to expect from Fury as far as weight, training, tactics and it could make a big difference. If Fury is going to be a fat sloppy mess after halfway then Usyk might outwork him, even hurt him. The skinny-fat Fury from Wilder I, especially at full health, I think would be hard for Usyk to deal with, fast on the move, fast punches, hard to hit, still enough power to do damage. This new pudgy-fat guy that goes forward with the 1-2 and is pretty flat-footed and likely can't move well for 12, not sure if it will be enough. Maybe the maul works, but if Fury is not able to move and work as much, might not be as effective. Let's just be clear about the 270 lbs garbage. Wlad was maybe an inch smaller than Fury and very muscular and with lower body fat. Wlad was 110kg or so, around 242lbs give or take. Fury should not be much more than this, really. Davison wanting him in the low 250s was absolutely reasonable though his idiot father was claiming he was starved or whatever. At that size he has more speed, more agility and should be able to hit as hard as necessary.
My view on this is it's a bit like a game of ping pong right now:- FURY (with pinky in mouth) : I want 500 MILLION dollars!!!!! USYK : I want to spend time with my family over Christmas and reflect on a horrifc year. LEt's do undisputed early 2023 FURY : Usyk is a ducking *****! Usyk's public request seems the more reasonable one to me, given that he honored his rematch clause with AJ under what must have been tremendously strained circumstances. Looking at other fighters taking ages for far lesser reasons to not match up ( lookin at Crawford/Spence, Bivol/Beterbiev) I think Usyk can be cut just a wee bit of slack here. My 2c
Usyk is the last person on the planet who would duck someone, I hope that this fight will happen and that Usyk will calm down Fury once and for all...
The fact that Tyson Fury, in the year of our lord 2022, can generate a 10 page thread on here based on a 1 minute signature Instagram rant shows his fight building abilities haven’t diminished. I’m just amazed that supposedly knowledgable boxing fans on this forum just take it literally and can’t see it for what it is - building a fight.
Spot on. There are three factors which might mean a different outcome and perhaps all three need to come into play to find a different winner: 1. The ref clamps down on the jab and grab 2. Fury really does have an issue with southpaws - we only have one fight to go off, so we can't be sure of this but it might be the case 3. Fury's stamina - which is tremendous on face value - is dependant on low-volume punching and Usyk forces him to engage enough to make him gas in a way he's not done so before, and Usyk does throw a lot more than Fury Otherwise, I see it like you...
if Fury blows Usyk out inside 6 rounds it will be excuses Usyk had injuries Usyk was just a pumped up middleweight which is probable all true
It's not strange that Wilders and race fans now on Furys side vs Usyk ? I understand that most of you did not watch Usyk until AJ and you judge Fury by Wilder fights. but still... It's strange
There is one fact nobody can talk away : fury agreed and is ready to go , usyk is the one who currently runs . There is only one reason to do it : doubts about the outcome and fearing to loose all belts . If usyk would be pretty sure to put fury on the canvas and catch the undisputed title he would of course agree to the fight asap ! The rest is just political talk
Real recognise real, yo. USKY is a talent, passes the eye test no mistake. Problem is as I see it, he is still by all accounts a feather fisted pumped up cruiserweight. USKY isn’t lighting anybody up at heavyweight, let alone a 270lb gypsy TANK who ate nuclear bombs from prime Wilder and lived to tell the tale. Fury has the size the strength the heart and the ability to MAUL USKY into submission, or to box his head off and stop him. Fury is showing USKY the appropriate level of respect a 270lb ATG heavy should show a 220lb cruiser with four fights and no KOs at the weight.
