Stevie s thread got me thinking of the best British Fighters, that never won a title? Tony Sibson s one at the top imo.
Herol Graham was better than majority of fighters who win world titles in their career. I believe He was also better fighter than Benn and Eubank who were big stars and won titles in two divisions, with bunch of title defences. He came just short against very good fighters, but always showed himself very well. He was clearly a very capable, world level fighters and a tough outing for anyone. Michael Watson was definitely a world class fighter also. Similary to Graham, didn't get an easy title shot - and also had a bit of bad luck against Eubank. Recently, I think Luke Campbell also deserves mention. He wasn't necessary a great fighter, but I think He was better than guys like Crolla, Burns, Flanagan - who won titles at his weight-class around his time. Issue for him, his title shot didn't come against Paulus Moses, injured Jose Zepeda or Darleys Perez - but prime Jorge Linares (on the road) and Lomachenko. I heard that Johnny Owens was good. I have a book about him, but did not read it yet. If someone could maybe write something about him, would be interesting to read. Does He deserve to be mentioned here?
Gary mason was better than Bruno an Lewis only beat him by poking him in the eye which led to him ending his career while still in his prime
