Bad timing for Fury if so. AJ really needs a win going into this fight. Although it would be interesting to see AJ in a fight where everyone has written him off completely.
I was hypothesising about this earlier. If this happened and AJ won, would people want AJ vs Usyk for undisputed? It would be a bizarre situation either way.
The longer this Undisputed fight drags on the more chance of belts being fractured away and it’s no longer then the undisputed fight where all hoping for.Fury fighting Ruiz v Ortiz winner or another top ranked fighter is fine while Usyk waits to recover but how long are the various sanctioning bodies going to be accommodating before they start calling the mandatory fights ? As for Fury he should let Joshua rebuild and get a few wins as the haters will only say he had lost three of his last five fights and was coming of two consecutive schoolings off Usyk.
In a sense it would be a bit of a strange risk for Fury. AJ is probably the only man out there with a legitimate chance of beating him and wrecking his undisputed chance. On the flip side he probably makes just as much money from AJ if not more. I still have no idea what Fury’s motivation is. I’m not sure he knows either.
AJ is mentally broken. He won't accept to fight Fury. And also Hearn wouldn't allow him. Not at his stage.
Agreed theres no way an AJ vs Fury fight happens anytime soon, AJ needs a lot of wins under his belt before it's even considered.
