Watch when Ortiz and Ruiz await the decision and greet each other. We can see that there is surely a difference of 5-6cm or 2 inches.

Ortiz himself is already rather small for a heavyweight today. He was the same height as Jennings or Hammer, around 1m90/6ft2.5.

Ruiz must therefore be barely 1m85 / 6ft0,5 tall

Ortiz is listed as 6'6". Not small at all.

What he lacks in length he makes up for in girth.

Yes he is short for the heavyweights of today but the man can certainly fight and can hold his own against anyone in the division imo.

No he is listed as 6'4'' but like many but like many boxers (and especially heavyweights) he cheats. I let you compare with Hammer or Jennings.

Ortiz was billed as being 188cm in one of his amateur fights, which suggests that Ruiz isn't even 6 foot tall.

I would have said 1m89-90 but yes that seems possible to me too. Do you have the source please?

It's also possible that Ortiz is slightly underbilled here but typically lower figures are more reliable.

Seeing pictures of ruiz next to canelo and other fighters I would put ruiz real height barefoot around 6'0 maybe 6'0 1/2, sometimes he looks even shorter than that.

I guess you've never heard the expression "it ain't the meat, it's the motion".

    Then again, "length, not strength".
