I'd say its a tie for 1st between Margs and paul williams. Neither fighter really WON that fight, I had it a draw. On paper Williams should be ahead of Tony Williams beat quintana who beat cotto, but Margarito beat Cotto and lost to williams. They need a rematch to settle it

 

He is the #1 rated welter but not the people's champ/linear champ/undisputed champ...though some may see him as the people's champ right now.

While AM lost a close decision . . .by one round on my card to PW. . . PW was routed by Quintana, sure he avenged the loss but he still lost by way more than one round to a guy who was demolished by Cotto.

 

Let's be honest, Margo will never be universally considered the best at 147 unless he beats Williams, or Williams leaves the division or Williams takes a bad loss. As long as Paul is at 147 beating people up and defending the belt that once took from Margo; Margo is going to have a hard time convincing people that he's the best fighter in the division.
