    It was interesting live because of the tension, but now that you know how it ended I'm not sure I'd sit through it.

    Ruiz by a round. Ortiz basically won every round outboxing Ruiz barring the two he was knocked down in and one of the later rounds (can't remember which) and a couple of swing rounds.

    113-112 Ruiz. 7-5 in rounds to Ortiz but 3 knockdowns gives Ruiz the win. However the second knockdown of the 3 could of been ruled a slip. If it had been I have the fight a draw

    I scored it a bit of a disappointment.
    Was hoping for more action and a knockout finish.

    But ther ight man won.
    The 3 knockdowns made the difference.

    There’s no obligation to score that round a 10-7. It’s not actually a rule and I don’t think it should have been a 10-7.

    I don't remember a double knockdown round ever being scored 10-8, although it's within the rules to do so.

    The second kd was basically a push and then Ortiz landed some big shots. 10-8 for me and I had it a draw.

    It has happened before or something similar, but I can’t remember the fights.

    Yes that’s fine. If you were a judge and didn’t feel that round warranted a 10-7 score it’s your right to not score that - but it is usually the default option. Just like when Hearns fought Leonard a second time in the final round one of the 3 judges decided to score the round a 10-8 for Leonard despite no knockdowns of Tommy. That judges perception of the round changed that fight to a draw from a Hearns win. It’s judges discretion. But 90 percent of the time rule of thumb is 2 knockdowns is gonna merit a 10-7 round
