To be fair Fury turned down 40% split to fight AJ after the first Wilder fight and wanted 50% despite Fury not having any belts and at the wasn't anywhere near as popular with British public as he is now.
Undefeated at the time though and to add to that Fury is more popular now than then so he is being very generous to AJ imo he could in all fairness offer a 70-30 split and i would agree that is fair so 60-40 is very generous.
Fury still had no belts and couldn't give tickets away at the time. Whilst it's between AJ and Canelo as the biggest stars in boxing. Anything from 40- 50 is a fair offer. Anything under would be hypocritical considering Fury turned down 40%.
I have to disagree with AJ being a bigger star than Fury mate at the minute i would say Fury is a much bigger star worldwide than AJ
AJ still reportedly getting the bigger purses and has made more stadium fights. It wasn't long ago in the Waallin amd Schwarz fight they struggled to give tickets away. No doubting though that Furys popularity has increased dramatically after the second Wilder fight.
There are many more strings to Fury's bow than Joshua will ever have. 60-40 is fair for all considering Joshua is coming of 2 defeats. It's a great opportunity for him to end his career on a high win or loose.
Nonsense. Fury turned down 40% after the first Wilder fight. That fight raised his profile in the United States and UK. Fury was also the lineal champion at that time.
That's certainly the case where I am. Even people I know who don't like sport know who Tyson Fury is, and young girls due to his brother being on love island haha. AJ isn't as well known though.
Lineal champion was bollocks back them though. He’d not fought for 3 years... how can anyone become lineal champion if the lineal champion himself is sat at home.
To be fair AJ has always paid his opponents well. Fury has said he’d fight for free but only offered Chisora a take it or leave it £2mil. He’s as green eyed as anyone over a £ note
First Wilder didn't raise his profile that much hence the poor ticket sales for Wallin and Schwarz fights. It was the after the second Wilder fight that saw his popularity increase.
It is odd that negotiations are being played out so openly. Tyson Fury through Talksport and Instagram and Eddie through IFL TV and other boxing outlets. The split for the first fight accepted already. Dates nearly agreed. Something just doesn't add up On a side note. Joshua wanting the reverse split in the rematch if he wins. He denied Dillian Whyte the same courtesy, that's why their rematch didn't happen if I recall correctly.
