Why isn't Pacquiao's resume criticized more?

Why doesn't Pacquiao get as much criticism for his resume as Floyd does?

Pacquiao fought David Diaz, who was AT BEST, the 5th best lightweight in the world at the time, for a belt. He fought Cotto at a catchweight, Margarito, who had already been busted for using plaster, for a vacant strap at 154, Hatton, who Floyd had already beaten, Rios, who was tailor-made for him, Matthysse, who was past-it, Algieri, who went life and death with limited Provodnikov, and Thurman, who was coming off a long layoff.

    Because his resume is amazing.

You take the period 2003-2012 you have almost only excellent fights. And even outside there were very good opponents (Sasakul, Bradley, Thurman....)

Pacquiao has the equivalent of three HoF careers.

Because Floyd's reputation is based primarily on never having lost. Which opens it up to more scrutiny as to why has he never lost.

I think mostly cause hevwas punching sbove his weight for over a decade based on his size.
Imagine if loma fought Spence at 150?

Pac was a superfeather/lightweight at best at his size.
That he fought so many bigger guys and beaten them makes his resume awesome.

You are very annoying with your threads.

Manny Pacquiao was a ring warrior who fought bigger men, never avoided anyone, never cherry-picked. He started at minimumweight, won his first world title at flyweight, and is a MUCH smaller man than Floyd, yet beat prime versions of some of the same opponents (such as Cotto) more impressively than Floyd's beating faded versions.

Floyd Mayweather was a coward who stopped fighting for a few years because there were several prime good welterweights he didn't want to face. He had dodgy judges who helped him maintain his "0" such as in the Castillo fight, and corrupt referees like Cortez who protected him against the smaller Hatton and Bayless who protected him against Maidana.

He built up an undefeated record by fighting people like the little bantamweight Jesus Chavez who he made move up in weight to fight him.

He fought faded men who had been KOed or smaller men like JMM, Hatton and Guerrero, while avoiding anyone slightly larger like Vernon Forrest. When he could no longer make weight and moved up, he avoided dangerous boxers at each weight division, like Casamayor at 135, Tszyu at 140, and instead fought a journeyman Sharmba Mitchell at 147. He then made Ricky Hatton move up to 147 and fight him in his chosen hometown of Las Vegas with it's notoriously corrupt officials, and then "retired" for a few years because he was afraid of Williams, Margarito, prime Cotto, and prime Mosley.

He pitty-patted and carried limited opponents like faded Berto the distance, because he was afraid to open up and go for the KO. His fights were so dull they were a cure for insomnia, but otherwise no good for anything.

Because Manny had WAY more true classic fights than Floyd with better fighters like Juan Manuel Marquez and Erik Morales. Also, do you know how difficult it is to win eight belts in eight different weight classes? That's unheard of, no matter if the people Manny beat weren't the best out there or not.

erik morales was shot to pieces when he fought pacquiao, and still he managed to win the first fight. That's how big morales is, a true ATG. Prime morales (morales vs barrera I) gives pacquiao the beating of his life.

On the other hand, I think that el torito díaz is a very good victory in any resume. I dont care about what numbers say, el torito díaz was a hell of a fighter. Very good and hard fighter.

Your talking about a few select fights spanning over a long amazing career, whilst not mentioning all of Pacquiaos other amazing achievements. So i don't really understand your point. Nor do I understand the criticism for beating an undefeated highly rated Thurman, while Pacquiao is at the end of his career. If anything that enhances his resume.

A few other points aswell Pacquiao beat Hatton at his best weight 140. Mayweather wouldn't even fight Margarito, so I don't understand how Pacquiao gets criticized for beating him up.

Shot to pieces, yet almost beat Maidana and Danny many years later.

    Idiot.

You can find a way to nitpick and criticize anyones resume. Quit trying to find ways to diminish all these boxers accomplishments and focus on the things they did to get where they are.

At the moment everyones riding Usyk nuts for beating AJ whom i never thought was that good in the first place but it'd be kinda dumb if years from now someone made a thread with the intent to muster up doubt in Usyks resume over a petty rivalry between fanbases. Chill and be happy. Find the good in everyone.

Three Truly Deserving HOF Career's unlike today's Standards of whos being allowed to enter the HOF,

Unfathomable, the Header needs to be changed to an Appreciation Thread instead.

What a truly horrible thread starter. Just a quick look at International Boxing Hall of Fame members shows that seven of Pacquiao's opponents are already in the Hall of Fame and he has an 8-3-1 record against them. Certainly, more of his opponents will make the Hall. Manny fought against top quality guys for two decades. Come on @VG_Addict, you are better than this.

That Morales first fight was a very close 7-5 Type of fight seems people forget that part & by the way the Cut on Pacquiao's Eye had allot to do with that decision,

Even then no shame in losing especially in that type of way, in fact it might have been a blessing in disguise where it allowed Manny to improve into a better fighter overall & with the addition of his Right hand,

At least he accepted the challenge with anyone anytime unlike so many of todays Contemporary's who would rather age out or entirely duck there opponents.
