Prime of there lives. In this match up I think the stubby master gets the barbarian treatment from a very big and skilled guy like Ohba.

I can't say I know much about Ohba's style but I remember being sad when I read about his death.

To be honest, I am extrapolating my thoughts from their Boxrec pages so I do look forward to hearing from those with real knowledge.

Perhaps location might play a bit into the result. Canto defended his title in six different countries while all of Ohba's defenses and all but one of his bouts were in his home country of Japan. Maybe fighting outside Japan would create a small problem for Ohba while not bothering Canto.

It seems to me that Canto, as talented as he was would have had a bit of a hard time getting inside against the taller, longer, stronger Ohba. Canto would probably win some rounds because he was that good but overall I would have to think it's a decision win for Ohba. I don't see the Mexican getting KOed. Though he was stopped five times they were all during the first three fights and the last three fights of his career. He was not stopped during the prime of his 74 fight career.

Man dig up Ohba’s fight with Charty. (Nickname) it’s one of his last fights and easily one of his best he’s an absolute nightmare proposition for anyone his size and potentially higher had he lived to grow into say bantam.

His fights with Orlando Amores and Betulio Gonzalez are both worth a watch.

Ohba probably a bad matchup for Canto giving his length, jab and activity.

I'm back and forth on this one quite honestly since Canto is just so good at handling taller, more methodical fighters. I don't think there's a wrong answer for this match up although I do think Ohba also has a chance in besting Canto the same way that Park was able to.
