If Hatton couldn't handle Mayweather, how is he supposed to get past Meldric's super velocity?

Chavez had a super hard head at the time they fought and was able to easily absorb all those shots and land super-powerful punches to compensate. I don't see Hatton having either of those attributes.

LMAO @ any fool picking Hatton.

Taylor was a different level fighter, and Hatton was tailor (no pun intended) made for him.

    Taylor TKO 11.

    1. Taylor would beat Hatton easily. Not even a close fight.

Taylor via Wide UD or Late Stoppage. He wins every round in a pretty one-sided fight.

Big fan of both…but going against the majority and my Philly bias, I think Hatton beats Meldrick

Blasphemy! We're going to have to launch an investigation into your avatar, after that statement! :pancarta:

There is too much overrating average fighters around here. Hatton was not Chavez. A prime Taylor should be able to beat him with ease.

I’d pick Taylor but it might be a good fight

Ricky Hatton is NOT Julio Cesar Chavez. Though Hatton may have punched harder with one punch,
He doesn't have the skills set to consistently land on Taylor the way Chavez did.
Of course this should be a much easier fight for Taylor than what he'd make it, because of his tendency to wait around for the "receipt " instead of getting his shots in an moving.
He also didn't have the "pop" in his punches to discourage Hatton .
But Taylor would land 5-6 or more to Hatton's 1 or 2.
Taylor cruises to a unanimous dec win. Though he may look like the loser if swelling is taken into account. I'm sure he'd look worse than Hatton.

I think it should go without saying that Taylor is just plain better. Hatton was not on that level with guys like JCC.
