I would also add that Ruiz's historical standing is a lot more plastic than Galento's

His next few fights could impact his legacy enormously, while Galento's career is a done deal.

Not sure, John. Ruiz for all his shortcomings seems like a fairly decent gentleman and not quite the dirty fighter Galento was in the ring. About the only thing I see in common between the two of them is lack of devotion to training but they certainly wouldn’t be alone in that commonality in this sport

Yeah, Ruiz is frustrating. Clearly so much talent there, haven't seen a HW put together punches like that since Tysion/Holy, but he doesn't make the most of it.

Galento was more akin to Bonavena imo, despite being much fatter. An awkward guy with a dangerous punch.

Ruiz is a sweet boxer and has fast hands, good timing, and is tough. He would smoke Galento. And no, he isn't a one trick pony like Galento was either. Andy is just a bit fat, but he can fight his ass off.

His obsession with Foreman is worrying. At this point, Foreman must've ****ed his wife in front of him.

I don’t want to even imagine Joe Louis losing to Andy ruiz jr. I’ll give Ruiz his due credit in that he’s tough and has gone further than most thought he would.

Other than the fact that there are some stylistic differences, I'm not sure he's that much of an improvement. Frankly, if we could have Tony back in his prime, against Andy in his prime, I wouldn't want to place a bet either way. I'd love to watch it, though.

They are both fat, the end.

Andy has an amateur pedigree, is a far more educated and skilled boxer, and is generally a humble, down to earth guy.

Much faste hands and a better combo puncher, AJ would have destroyed Galento.
