If these two LEGENDS clashed at Lightweight, who do you think wins, what gives the winner the edge, and could the loser do anything in a rematch?

Duran would win in my opinion. It's one of those
situations what Chavez could do, Duran could
    do better.
Duran hit harder at lightweight, was faster of hand
and foot. Duran was a tad better at everything.
Chavez's best weight may have been at Jr.light/super feather
also. Duran would be physically stronger too,
he would be able to push Chavez into the ropes
and corners, have the strength to keep him there.

I agree with you, Duran win s.
I do think it's a competitive fight even tho Duran would win with out a doubt. Chavez starts off slow a lot of the time and this would leave him trailing on points.
Duran harder punch and relentless offence would tip the fight his way.
Rd was so intense that even Chavez would find himself stressed out.
A 15 rounds fight by unanimous decision for Hands of stone

Roberto Duran at lightweight wins a unanimous victory for me I think at light welterweight and welterweight this fight is much more competitive though.

I disagree that Duran would stop Chavez at ww.Carlos Palomino went the distance with Duran at welterweight when Duran was the number 1 pound for pound fighter.Palomino took a bad beating in that fight but lasted the distance.

To be fair Palomino was never stopped, and Duran was known for his inconsistencies

Duran had more going for him and also the more tenacious fighter. Remember; he beat Sugar Ray Leonard and went 15 with Hagler in a close fight

it would be like the Randall fights where Chavez eventually wears down and gives ground to Duran

    Duran.

Chavez was great, but Duran was just better. More “dynamic”. Quicker of hand, foot, and upper body movement. Both were masterful combination punchers but Duran seemed like he could use more unusual angles, and was so instinctive in the ring.

I think it’s Duran but maybe a little different than people expect — I think he comes out like he did in DeJesus III and outboxes Chavez, at least for the first 10 rounds. Duran was just better all-around but I don’t think he’s necessarily wade in to pound his chest and be the trench warrior here everyone thinks.

In the championship rounds I think we get the more animalistic version as Duran bites down on the mouthpiece and rumbles through 11-15 to close the show with a flourish … but cannot stop the Lion of Culiacan.

Duran wins a hard-fought decision in one of the greatest fights of all time.
